Kiyosumi Tien
It was beautiful!!! Retrospectively the most beautiful garden we visited. Peaceful, pretty, and immaculately maintained.
Once again we did the wrong station exit trick, but had a nice walk around the local area. We accepted that we'd get lost in Tokyo a lot and just enjoyed the detours, which generally allowed us to see places we wouldn't have done otherwise.

We were in turtle heaven this time, with Red Eared Slider turtles literally everywhere, plus a couple of much more shy snakeck turtles, and shedloads of giant fish! There were also ducks and even a heron!

You could buy food to feed the fish and the lady at the ticket counter wrote down the Japanese for fish food and tried to give Aaron directions on where to find it but unfortunately he didn't manage to find the place, hey ho.

We were sad to leave, we could have spent all day there with a picnic I think, but we needed to move on to our next stop: Akihabara, which was going to be quite a contrast!
Akihabara
Akihabara was all bright colours, electrical and manga shops, and arcades. It was slightly beyond our geek level but Aaron loved Super Potato- 3 floors of retro games and retro gaming merch! They had some consoles set up around the store that you could play on and on the top floor old-skool arcade games which we had a go on too.

We also ticked maid cafe off the list, it was weird but the food was cute! Although I can only describe the meal we ate as burger curry with potato salad... but it was shaped like a puppy face which is the only thing that matters! Burger curry seemed to be a bit of a thing over there, inexplicably! Aaron had a cute bear coffee, but it had started to spread a bit by the time these pictures were taken.
Unfortunately we got confused and bought the set meal package without the photo with our server, so I took a picture of Aaron with the poster outside instead haha. To be fair the photo with the server looked cringey- there was a couple on the next table who did it and they had to get on the stage and pose with their server and put on different fancy dress things... so I wasn't too sad that we didn't do that!
Tokyo Disneysea
Our feet hurt far too much and we were far too tired, but we didnt want to miss the only Disneysea park in the world when we did have the time.

We bought an After 6 pass as we were only there for the evening. We looked at the map and tried to work out which rides might be more adult rides (using height restrictions etc) as we knew we didn't have long so would need to prioritise, so walked to the opposite side of the park to find our chosen ride only to find it closed! Our next choice was halfway around the park again so with all the walking and the queuing we only managed to get on that one ride (journey to the centre of the earth).

However it was a cool place to walk around, and we watched the Fantasia show (a bit confusing and you needed to get a good vantage point far in advance of the show rather than after the show started like we did haha, but fun), and I got a mickey mouse ears/hat headband. We had dinner in a Disney restaurant (a tempura set meal) before heading back to the hotel to pack for our overnight stop in Hakone the next day...
